Established in 2009, Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT), Raipur, is a premier private engineering institution operating under the aegis of the Seth Balkrishan Memorial Trust. It was founded as a sister campus to the highly reputed BIT Durg (the first private engineering college in Central India, established in 1986). Affiliated with CSVTU, Bhilai, and approved by the AICTE, BIT Raipur initially focused purely on core engineering disciplines but has since expanded its academic umbrella to include Pharmacy (BIP Pharma) and general degree programs (BIT CCSMA) encompassing Sciences, Arts, and Commerce.
